Omule : Hi , can you tell me how everything started?
Andreea : Hello! Well, it’s quite a weird story.I never showed any special interest towards art during my childhood or early teenage years.I was pretty sure I liked mathematics up until 10th or 11th grade.I’ve realised I wanted to be an artist only in my 12th grade when I finally decided that a career in IT is not what I would love to pursue. So, I changed my life plans, had a talk with my parents and started to take art lessons so I could get accepted into art school. The rest is history now.
Omule : What is like to be an illustrator? Where do you get your inspiration from?
Andreea : I work as a freelance illustrator from my home.I’ve been doing this for only about 6 months now, so I could say I am still figuring things out but I love everything about this career so far.I am working a lot to improve,so I do a lot of studies but I think,my biggest source of inspiration is music.I just listen to a song and sometimes ideas pop into my head.
Omule : Can you remember some of your earliest influences?
Andreea : Hmmm...I think one of my earliest influences was Audra Auclair. She is a quite well known artist in the Youtube/Instagram communities.Even though she focuses a lot on drawing human characters, while I prefer other subjects more, seeing her sketchbook tours really inspired my aesthetic.
Omule : What is your ideal creative environment?
Andreea : At home, listening to music or a good podcast/youtube video, with no one bothering me.I like being alone when I draw.I never felt comfortable drawing in public.

Omule : What do you like the most about your work ?
Andreea : There are two things I like the most about my work.First it’s the fact that it has gotten a lot better over the years, and the second, I love my use of color in some of my recent digital works, especially since I used to struggle a lot with color and be really afraid to use it.
Omule : What kind of tools do you use?
Andreea : I work mostly digitally. So, my Wacom Intous graphic tablet. When I work traditionally, I go for watercolors or brush pens and Posca markers. Do you have a favourite place to go on a holiday?
Omule : What’s your favorite food ?
Andreea : My favorite food is pasta.Any kind of pasta.I just love Italian food in general actually.
Omule : Who is on the guest list for your ideal dinner party?
Andreea : Haha.I have such a huge list of celebrities I would like to hang out with but if I have to pick one, in this moment of time, it would be Jeffree Star.
Omule : Do you have favorite documentaries, movies or podcasts?
Andreea : I watch so many things, It would take me ages to make a list. But I want to recommend a podcast for those who like subjects like true crime or any other dark theme relates subjects. It’s called “The Last Podcast on the Left”.I love listening to it while drawing.

Omule : What superpower would you like to have and why?
Andreea : Mind control or time travel, since I really hate making errors and I would love to have to ability to fix them somehow.
Omule : Would you say that keeping things simple is your strongest skill?
Andreea : No,not at all.I over complicate things all the time.I blame it on my artsy side.It makes me think in a chaotic way.
Omule : What would be a great achievement for you?
Andreea : Honestly,a great achievement would be to illustrate an entire book and have it published. It would be very satisfying to spot it in libraries.
