Omule : What is like to be an illustrator? Where do you get your inspiration from?
Illustrescu : It’s a lot of fun to be a creative person and for me personally i find it relaxing and enjoyable although sometimes it makes you go crazy. I think you can get inspired by almost everything and actually you find inspiration at every step you take, as for the digital part of inspiration i get it from social platforms like Behance, Pinterest, Instagram etc etc.
Omule : Can you remember some of your earliest influences? What about today? Who do you think is crushing it right now?
Illustrescu : My earliest influence was my dad, although an engineer, he always drew the coolest cars and motorcycles. As I grew up, I can’t really remember names, but I had a lot of comics and books, again from my dad. Right now probably my biggest influence was Musketon, a belgian artist, he really rocks with vectors, Jared Mirabile (sweyda on instagram), Hydrosevenfour, Dany Gartman and on the more traditional part of the craft would be Ken Taylor, FurtherUp, Luke Preece, to wrap it up with the king of the brushes Kim Jung Gi, every artist should check him!.
Omule : What is your ideal creative environment like? How is your process? Do you have any kind of creative patterns and routines?
Illustrescu : The ideal creative environment would have a large desk, with my setup, one wall with a personal mural on it and of course a cup of coffee. My process, I think, is still growing, but for now has 4 parts, research, drafts, lineart and coloring. I always try to read, learn and feed my brain plenty information about trends, colors, art ,styles etc. in order to always know where I can find the things I need in order to create.
Omule : What kind of tools do you use?
Illustrescu : Best friends with the Adobe Suite, but i usually work closely with Illustrator, Photoshop, AfterEffects and Animate CC. I also own a Ipad Pro 2018 and have the designated apps on it, Adobe Draw, Procreate and Affinity Designer. As for real tools, an Asus Rog laptop, one piece Wacom Pro M Tablet, a really large screen and cool coffee cups.
Omule : I know you have an online shop? How is that working for you?
Illustrescu : I do have an online shop, you can find the link in the beggining of this interview . I have in plan a full overhaul for the shop, to bring up some new designs for both illustrations and models, so stay close for the upcoming summer if you want some awesome unique Tshirts.
Omule : Do you have favorite documentaries, movies, or podcasts?
Illustrescu : Documentaries, check out the Lego documentary, after it i tried to find a job at Lego, it was a good one. Movies, all the Marvel series, big fan of that Universe. Podcasts, always checking in with the Adobe Creative Live Podcast on Youtube where they invite different artists who actually show their work and as well create something new while they are on.
Omule : What superpower would you like to have and why? If you had the power, what would you forbid?
Illustrescu : Thats easy, I really don’t know how to name it, but everything you draw could come to life and you could only use it once, then what would you draw?
Omule : Would you say that keeping things simple is your strongest skill?
Illustrescu : Keeping things simple is the best, but things are never simple, thats all i can say.
Omule : What would be a great achievement for you?
Illustrescu : Having the opportunity to work and learn from the best in the business, that would be a great achievement for me.

Thanks a lot for having me! Keep pushing for your dreams!
