“Omule : Hey Anna. What is it like to be an illustrator?”
“Anna : It allows you to create on a daily basis and never get bored at work because every project is different. You also learn a lot in the process – about your craft and yourself and the world around you as well.”
“Omule : Where do you get your inspiration from?”
“Anna : My main inspiration comes from my favorite music, sci-fi books, cinematography, photographs and works of XX century artists.”
“Omule : What is your ideal creative environment like?”
“Anna : I believe that you don’t really need a fancy working place to create some good work. Though your environment can be inspiring and aesthetically pleasing, the main thing here is your personal comfort.
In my ideal working place there will definitely be a PC with big screen monitor, a cozy sofa nearby, nice music on the background and a cup of coffee on the table.”
“Omule : How is your process? Do you have any kind of creative patterns and routines?”
“Anna : I really feel the most productive in the mornings. So I like to start my working day with a brief plan of tasks I need to accomplish. Apps and on-line schedulers don’t work for me for some reason so I stick with a good old paper notebook.
When working on a new illustration I like to start with quick sketches to define basic composition first. Then I make a more detailed digital sketch. I usually have some particular color palette and plot in my mind but sometimes it’s useful to check a couple of references.”
“Omule : What kind of tools do you use?”
“Anna : I’m a digital artist, so my weapons of choice are Photoshop, Illustrator and Procreate on iPad. I use a simple Wacom tablet when working on computer.”
“Omule : What do you love to do in your spare time?”
“Anna : In my free time, you can find me riding a bicycle, reading, watching a sci-fi movie / Netflix documentaries or playing a video game. ”
“Omule : Do you have a favorite place to go on a holiday?”
“Anna : One of my biggest source of joy and inner harmony has always been sea. I was born in the Southern part of my country in a city only 2-hour drive from the seashore. So I often spent a couple of Summer weeks there. So sea holidays are the best for me.”
“Omule : Who is on the guest list for your ideal dinner party?”
“Anna : Aside from my little family and close friends in the alternative universe I would be very happy to have a cup of coffee with Ray Bradbury.”
“Omule : What superpower would you like to have and why?”
“Anna : I would choose teleportation. Travelling will become much more easier and cheaper this way :)”
“Omule : All in all, what would be a great achievement for you?”
“Anna : Launching my own successful classes on design and illustration would be a dream come true. ”
